EMF-IncQuery is a framework for defining declarative queries over EMF models, and executing them efficiently without manual coding.
The EMF-IncQuery development environment features an Xtext-based textual syntax for query definitions, and provides support for quick evaluation of the currently developed model queries.
To ease the integration of these queries into existing EMF-based applications, code is generated for integration scenarios, such as on-the-fly model validation, model-based user interface definitions or high-level definition of derived features for Ecore models.

Scope:

EMF-IncQuery provides a new API for querying EMF models, an implementation of the API that leverages an incremental cache for fast retrieval, and a DSL and tools for specifying and testing queries. The emphasis is on scalability, which means fast (re-)execution even for complex queries and large models. EMF-IncQuery is intended to be a technological enabler, to provide a robust and scalable infrastructure on which higher level features such as well-formedness validation, view maintenance, or model synchronization can be built.
