In 2014 a group of German Distribution System Operator (DSO) started a discussion that led to the creation of the openKonsequenz initiative (OpenKONSEQUENZ). The intention of the group is to develop open source software for system operators which matches the needs of power networks in the 21st century. The main focus is to develop a modular and vendor independent IT-system which is open to different system integrators and 3rd party module provider. Further aspects are the improvement of IT-security and user experience and the reduction of development cycles and costs. The changing energy politics creates a number of new requirements concerning the flexibility, availability, security and performance, which have to be met by the technical platform.
The purpose of Eclipse eLogbook@openK is to provide a digital logbook for Distribution System Operators (DSO). The digital logbook provides a web front end for the users and consumes the services of the user management module and the control system via the ESB of the openK Platform. Out-of-Scope: Adjustments on the openK architecture and implementing the interface of the control system
The digital logbook is the main source of information in the central network control unit (CNCU) for the manual logging of events and operations which are not recorded automatically in the control system. In addition to the use for the structured transfer of information during the change of shifts, the company's digital logbook is to be used as an expanded resource for the work organization in the CNCU and as an information medium for the well-directed transfer of information from supervisors to employees. The project technically bases on the openK Platform.
