It is my distinct pleasure to nominate Ed Burns for committer role to the Jakarta EE Platform team. Ed has a long and distinguished history working with Jakarta EE (formerly Java EE) and will join the committer team as part of his duties as a Microsoft employee. Ed is currently Principal Architect for Java on Azure and has worked on client and server side technologies since 1994.
In his prior work, Ed Burns was a key contributor to Java EE including working as specification lead for the Java Server Faces (JSF) Project (now Jakarta Faces). Additionally he was a key contributor to the overall architecture and development effort of Java EE, working for Oracle and previously Sun Microsystems. You may have seen Ed give presentations on JSF at technical conferences in the past. You may have worked with him on various Java and Java Community efforts as well.
I am so happy that Ed is able to allocate some of his time and energy to Jakarta EE. I know that he delivered great things in the past and I am looking forward to collaborating with him again.
