Background

Tradista is an Open Source financial software which aims to streamline Trade & Treasury operations for banks and more generally for companies operating on the financial markets.

It is currently available on GitHub under the Apache 2 licence.

Scope

Eclipse Tradista is a Java based financial software covering front and middle office processes in the market finance industry.

Tradista provides features like market data integration, pre-deal checks, trade booking, cashflows forecast, position keeping, profit and loss (PnL) calculation and reporting. Several asset classes are covered : securities, interest rates derivatives, foreign exchange derivatives.

Description

Eclipse Tradista is a Java based financial software covering Front and Middle Office processes in the market finance industry.

As the unique Open Source software in this area, it can retain attention of financial institutions and can be of interest in the academic sector as well.

Eclipse Tradista is based on several Jakarta EE technologies and can also be used to showcase the usage of Jakarta EE in the market finance area.

Why Here?

The Eclipse Tradista project expects to benefit from wider visibility in the community and an extended open collaboration with interested parties.

A project like Eclipse Tradista opens the door to collaboration between financial institutions. Indeed, so far, such financial softwares are created in silos by banks or as closed sources solutions by third party vendors.

A project like Eclipse Tradista also democratizes the access to financial softwares: it is a free alternative for local banks, students, universities, startups...

Future Work

Some improvements are identified (Workflow editor GUI or Swift messages generation for example) but it would make sense to adapt the roadmap to the community's feedbacks.

The project lead will happily participate to chats, forums, events, workshops in order to grow the community around the project.

Project Scheduling

6 months approximately for the community to discover the solution, provide feedback, suggest improvements and then ideally release on a frequent basis.
