The project team has a plan breakup the current 4.0 specification into two specifications:
https://github.com/jakartaee/cdi/issues/687
- one to outline the core CDI behavior
- one to define requirements around how other Jakarta EE specifications make use of CDI
The feeling at the platform level is that the integration specification should be merged into the Web Profile or a separate CDI EE integration specification that is part of the platform project.
The EMO is scheduling this restructuring review following a request from the project team.
