Background

This project is created as part of the process of transitioning Oracle Java EE 8 and GlassFish technologies to the Eclipse Foundation as described in The Eclipse Enterprise for Java Project Top Level Project Charter (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/ee4j/charter).

Scope

Eclipse Project for JavaMail provides the API, reference implamentation and TCK for JavaMail, starting from the specification defined by JSR-919.

Description

The JavaMail API provides a platform-independent and protocol-independent framework to build mail and messaging applications. The JavaMail API is available as an optional package for use with the Java SE platform and is also included in the Java EE platform.
