Eclipse Starter for Jakarta EE
We want to make it easy for developers to start new Jakarta EE projects. The Spring Initializr (https://start.spring.io/) and MicroProfile Starter (https://start.microprofile.io/) have proven to be great success stories. We want to create a similar starter for Jakarta EE (https://start.jakarta.ee/) that goes a little bit further and shows developers how to get up-and-running on cloud-native Enterprise Java technology (Jakarta EE and MicroProfile), providing skeleton projects with optional sample code and comment-like documentation. The goal is to have a single starting point and a low bar of entry for enterprise developers.
Eclipse Starter for Jakarta EE provides functionality for generating skeleton Jakarta EE projects with optional samples and comment-like documentation backed by various vendor implementations.
The Eclipse Starter for Jakarta EE is a source code generator for Jakarta EE projects. That means that it is a natural fit under the EE4J umbrella.
The Jakarta EE working group owns the Jakarta name. It should be cleared with the working group that it is ok to use this name.
This project will be essential for the adoption of Jakarta EE.
We will follow the Jakarta EE releases and release new versions of the starter as needed.
We plan on having a first version of the generator available when Jakarta EE 9 is released.
Our intention is to start the work on this project here. There is no initial contribution of source code.

Engage MicroProfile Starter Community

Good and useful idea/project that will offer cloud-native Java deelopers tremendous value.
Since MicroProfile is referenced, the community/team working on MicroProfile Starter should be engaged to explore synergy and collaboration. At least, alignment in direction and intention.
Personally, I would like to participate in this project too.
