The WaSP and Standard Tag Library communities would like to initiate a restructuring review.
The matter at hand is moving the implementation code for Standard Tag Library, which currently resides within the JSTL repo (https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/jstl-api/tree/master/impl) to the WaSP project.
The reason for this is making the JSTL repo purely an API/Spec repo (and hence have it moved over to http://github.com/jakartaee) and find a new home for the mentioned implementation code.
Since Jakarta Pages and Jakarta Standard Tag Library are so intricately connected, the team decided to go for a single implementation project for both. The alternative would have been to create a new implementation project for Jakarta Standard Tag Library only (with a new name, etc).
This will change the scope of WaSP from
"Eclipse WaSP provides an implementation of the Jakarta Pages specification."
to (using the short names):
"Eclipse WaSP provides an implementation of the Jakarta Pages and Jakarta Tags specifications."
