The CDO 4.4 release focuses on a new and consistent way to expose core functionality in the user interface. Screencasts of this new user interface are available.
The project leadership certifies that the APIs in this release are "Eclipse Quality".
CDO is from the beginning designed to very modular in terms of both plugins and features. UI code is carefully separated from core/headless code. Wherever applicable implementations are separate from their APIs.
There are no architectural issues known.
No vulnerabilities known.
Oomph supports:
- An automated build and promotion system with signing.
- Modular help center plugins that are also promoted statically.
Oomph does not yet support:
- Localization/externalization.
CDO has a strong focus on usability.
No features (APIs or any significant user features) are being end-of-life'd in this release.
CDO is heavily based on EMF.
CDO is used and adopted broadly. The project team is diverse and not dominated by a single company.
