The Eclipse Integrated Computational Environment 2.2

Release Date
Deliverables

The primary deliverable of this release is a cleaner, more stable product and API. Additionally, we have added additional features such as self-hosting and scripting through the Eclipse Advanced Scripting Environment.

Compatibility

This is the first release of Eclipse ICE through the Foundation, so there are no backwards compability issues. Future releases of the 2.x line are expected to be mostly compatible with this release, but the 3.x release will be completely different.

Target Environments

This product works on Windows, Mac and Linux desktops. It requires version 1.8 of the JRE. It has been tested on systems with all three of these operating systems. The primary flavors of Linux on which ICE has been tested and used are Red Hat flavors (RHEL, Fedora, CentOS).
