1.0.0

Description

This is the first stable release of the code base since it was branched from the Eclipse DawnSci, Eclipse ICE, and Eclipse EAVP projects.

It features numerical datastructures for scientific computing as well as general purpose structures that map to a wide range of scientific problems.

API Certification

The project leadership certifies that the APIs in this release are "Eclipse Quality".

Architectural Issues

The major reason for moving datastructures into a new project, the Eclipse January project, and away from Eclipse DawnSci, Eclipse ICE and Eclipse EAVP is to allow cooperation and reuse between different projects.

Non-Code Aspects

The code has been migrated from the originating projects. The JavaDoc documentation therefore has mirgrated with he code. However, non-JavaDoc documentation will be migrated as part of this release cycle, including examples.

As a reference, a prepartory landing page for developers was created last year https://github.com/jonahkichwacoders/org.eclipse.dataset. This needs to be migrated to Eclipse January with the new names and updates.

Usability Details

This software is not for direct consumption by end-users.

Communities

This release is primarily of interest to the Science Working Group and associated entities.
