Description

This release aims at providing Ogee as it was after the initial contribution. Mostly bug fixes are done.

API Certification

The project leadership certifies that the APIs in this release are "Eclipse Quality".

Architectural Issues

Extensibility

Ogee itself only supports the modeling of OData services. Instead of providing a generic way of creating service implementations for certain target platforms, it aims at being extensible in a way that service implementation tools can extend Ogee For this purpose two more extension points have been added in this release.

Meta Model

The EMF-based meta model is not yet ideal. Behind the scenes it implements some concepts of OData V3. As this was never complete, the editor so far is restricted to OData V2. The plan for the future is to reimplement this model to be fully compliant to OData V4.

Usability Details

So far Ogee can be used to model OData services and export service metadata files for further usage in other tools. It can also import and visualize service metadata file from existing OData services. Tools for the creation of service implementations can extend Ogee. This kind of extensibility will be developed further over the next releases.

Standards

Ogee supports modeling OData services according to version 2 of the standard.
