I would like to nominate Jannik Oliver Fried for committer status on Eclipse BaSyx. Jannik has been a dedicated contributor for several years and has significantly strengthened our Java backend and overall code quality.
His key contributions include, for example:
• The addition of the experimental AAS Query Language (AAS QL) support in the BaSyx Java Server SDK. [1]
• Numerous important bug-fixes and enhancements across registry, repository, and AAS environment components, including improvements to AAS environment serialization, the Discovery & Registry integration, and test/CI reliability. [2][3]
• Work on the Java server SDK versioning and dependency updates (e.g. upgrading to the latest AAS4J version), helping to keep BaSyx up-to-date and stable. [4]
Beyond the code contributions, Jannik has repeatedly shown commitment to the project’s long-term maintainability and robustness. His involvement in core infrastructure, especially concerning the Java backend SDK, registry & repository integration, and release-critical fixes, has earned him deep familiarity with the architecture and design philosophy of BaSyx.
Given his sustained engagement, his substantial and technically critical contributions, and his clear understanding of BaSyx’s architecture, I believe Jannik is an excellent candidate for commit rights.
