10.0
The Orion 10.0 release will be in October 2015, following the project's regular 4 month release cycle. The main areas of focus will be on JavaScript and HTML tooling, performance improvements, and improved Git capabilities.
The Node.js implementation of the Orion server has been gaining ground in this release. It has added an initial version of Git support, and support for global search & replace. This fills two of the major gaps in functionality between the Java and Node implementations. The Node.js implementation is still not fully production quality.
No known security issues.
Documentation quality in Orion remains poor. Most of the documentation resides on the wiki and is not fully up to date.
There has been significant work on localization in this release, and the Orion user interface works well for most character sets with left to right text direction. Orion has not been enabled to support bidirectional text, although some preliminary work in this area has been done.
There are no end of life issues in this release.
