The plan is to deliver multiple milestones, continously implementing the draft Faces 4.0 spec as features and changes in it become available.
Compatibility
Following Faces 4.0, which is a major incompatible release, Mojarra 4.0 is incompatible with previous releases.
Specifically, many deprecated APIs and their implementations thereof have been removed. Any application that still depends on them has to upgrade to use the replacement APIs.
