In 2016, Jeroen started to join the Eclipse IoT Community contributing to Eclipse Vorto. His contribution was not only code ([1]), he influenced feature set and roadmap of Vorto ([2]) as well.
Most important however, he also gained a lot of visibility for the project in the public ([3]) and thus became a open source ninja.
As Kai already mentioned in Jeroen's committer election, he is committed to support the project not only by means of code contributions. He will represent the hawkBit project at EclipseCon Europe ([4])
or following up the request for an official hawkBit sandbox [5]. Furthermore he is well engaged in community discussions [6] and already supporting Kai in terms of project management tasks ([7]).
Based on the reasons given above, I nominate Jeroen for the role as hawkBit project lead.
