The 1.6.0 release marks successful completion of the migration to life support: https://github.com/eclipse-modisco/org.eclipse.modisco/issues/1035. All previously skipped JUnit tests pass in the Tycho build without verbose stack traces, except for a couple of clearly identified bugs. JustJ provides a good builds page.
In principle, nothing changes in this release, however the incompatible evolution of Acceleo 4 prompted rewrite of the to-java functionality. This prompted enhanced test coverage and identifed the import of https://github.com/eclipse-modisco/org.eclipse.modisco/issues/1082; no support for Java evolution since Java 5. The prediction that discovery of modern Java would fail was confirmed.
It is has become apparent that distributing the prevailing deficient Java support is irresponsible and that there cannot be any users who actually use MoDisco in earnest. https://github.com/eclipse-modisco/org.eclipse.modisco/discussions/1116 therefore starts a discussion on whether the next step is a Termination Review.
