Background

Jakarta CDI specification is introducing CDI-Lite - lightweight, build-time injection APIs. This project is an attempt to create a CDI-Lite implementation based on Micronaut framework.

Scope

Open DI (ODI) provides an implementation of Jakarta CDI-Lite specification.

Why Here?

Eclipse EE4J project is a home of many Jakarta EE implementations. It makes sense to keep implementations in one place rather than hosting it somewhere else. We expect ODI to be tightly integrated with other implementations and will accept contributions from Jakarta EE community.

Future Work

The project will continue providing releases as the specification evolves.

Project Scheduling

The project goal is to build a CDI-Lite compatible implementation used as a technology proof for the CDI-Lite specification final review. The first release is expected in 2022 and tightly depends on CDI-Lite specification release. The project will produce releases several times per year.
