Background

This project is created as part of the process of transitioning Oracle Java EE 8 and GlassFish technologies to the Eclipse Foundation as described in The Eclipse Enterprise for Java Project Top Level Project Charter (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/ee4j/charter).

Scope

Eclipse Project for JSTL provides the API and TCK for JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library, starting from the specification defined by JSR-52.

Description

JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL) encapsulates as simple tags the core functionality common to many Web applications. JSTL has support for common, structural tasks such as iteration and conditionals, tags for manipulating XML documents, internationalization tags, and SQL tags. It also provides a framework for integrating existing custom tags with JSTL tags.
