I hereby nominate Johannes as a third project lead.
Johannes has very actively participated in the project since 6 years and he was involved in ~ 500 Bug Reports [1]. He is well respected by all committers, contributors and adopters.
Besides his code contributions, he has in fact already taken a lot management tasks for the project, especially during releases. Johannes has participated in all major architectural decisions in the project since years. He proactively improved project processes and the quality.
We believe having him as a project lead will be of great benefit for the project.
We do not want to replace any existing project lead with Johannes. Reason for that is that we expect paternity leave periods for other project leads. Additionally, the new release cycle has created more continuous work for the leads. At the same time the project remains very active with ~14 active contributors and ~50 overall. To ensure a fully functional project with availability of 2 project leads and to handle the higher work load, we believe having three project leads is the perfect solution, especially having such as great candidate as Johannes is.
