Eclipse Free BIRD Tools

The Eclipse Free BIRD Tools™ project aims to provide visual and text based tooling to support the development, testing, and understanding of the artifacts produced by the European Central Banks BIRD project.

Specifically, this includes:

1.) A translator from BIRD data models into an open standard based on Ecore (to enable the use of the many open source tools written that work with the Ecore standard or similar software friendly standards)

2.) A formal standard for business friendly transformations, with tools support.

3.) Support of optional executable transformations in any modern Object Oriented Language (such as Java or Python), isolated from, but traceable to , the business friendly transformations.

4.) Attribute lineage for transformations, and data lineage for results from executed transformations.

5.) Tooling to support the organized development of the BIRD regulatory logic.
