Election for Christian Eltzschig as Project Lead on Eclipse iceoryx

Project
Role Type
Criteria

It is my pleasure to nominate Christian Eltzschig as a project lead on Eclipse iceoryx.

Christian, aka elfenpiff, has been a committer since the start in 2019 and he
was the most active and most consistent contributor to the C++ implementation
of iceoryx in the last two years. He was the one who kept the pace high when
other costributors were busy with other work. Mathias already contributed >
1500 commits with 280 pull requests. He also hosted many of the developer
meetups of the last months and was one of the committers that interacted the
most with the community.

With his dedicated passtion for iceoryx he contributed a lot to its
widespread use as high-performance inter-process-communication in many
industries. Thanks for your hard work elBoberido!

Mathias Kraus +1 NOTE: I messed up and the nomination was submitted before I had completed the text. It also seems one cannot edit the nomination after it was submitted. This is the actual text I wanted to submit. ## It is my pleasure to nominate Christian Eltzschig as the project lead for Eclipse iceoryx. ## Christian, aka elfenpiff, has been a committer since the project's inception in 2019 and is the leader behind the Rust-based re-implementation of iceoryx, known as iceoryx2. He implemented the entire codebase before open-sourcing it under the umbrella of the Eclipse Foundation at the end of 2023. With approximately 3,400 commits (1,300 of which are in iceoryx2), he is far ahead of the next committer, who has about 2,200 commits (340 in iceoryx2). He actively drives the development of iceoryx2 and represents the project at conferences, such as the OCX in 2024, where he presented his talk, "Revving Up Automotive Tech: Iceoryx2 Rewritten in Rust". ## In fact, over the past year, he has effectively acted as the project lead for the Rust-based iceoryx2, and this nomination acknowledges that reality. ## With his dedicated passion for iceoryx, he has contributed greatly to its widespread adoption as a high-performance inter-process communication solution across many industries. Thank you for your hard work, elfenpiff!
