MicroProfile 2.0
This release would target the Java EE 8 technology updates (CDI 2.0, JAX-RS 2.1, JSON-P 1.1, and Common Annotations 1.3). To complement JSON-P, MicroProfile 2.0 would also include JSON-B 1.0. The content of the current MicroProfile 1.4 release would also be included.
Although this release is tagged as a "major release", there are no breaking API changes. We are increasing the first digit of the release (from 1.x to 2.x) to indicate the major change in our Java EE dependencies. But, since these changes are backwards compatible, there are no known breaking API changes with this release.
