The release aims to deliver the first version of new sw360-frontend project. This is a new frontend based on NextJS and SW360 will no longer ship with Liferay based Frontends.
The Goal of this release:
- Migrate the frontend technology.
- Strengthen the REST API to support the new frontend.
- Keep the functionality of the backend same.
- Keep the familiarity of the frontend same.
The main goal of this release is to be backwards compatible with the last release, v18. However, due to requirements of the new frontend, some API may need to be adjusted and may break. Unfortunately, we do not have API documentation from v18 to compare it against, so cannot say 100% surety which API breaks and which are still compatible. This, however, will be easier to measure in future.
The new frontend is internationalized and is available in languages:
- English
- Japanese
- Chinese
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Korean
- German
- Spanish
- French
- Italian
- Taiwanese
The new release relies on following technologies:
