This is the first release under the umbrella of the Eclipse Foundation.

EclEmma is now a official project and included in several Eclipse Oxygen (4.7) packages ("Eclipse IDE for Java Developers", "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers" and "Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers").

Among other improvements and fixes following ones deserve special mention:

  • HiDPI icons
  • Upgrade to JaCoCo 0.7.9 that provides support for Java 9 Early Access builds

API Certification:

The project leadership certifies that the APIs in this release are "Eclipse Quality".

Non-Code Aspects:

User Guide is part of the project source code and published on EclEmma site.

End of Life:

End of support for Eclipse versions older than 3.8.

Since its inception in 2006 the project has been operating in open manner.

The project's committers hosted several sessions on EclipseCon 2008 through 2016, as well as on Devoxx France 2017 and prepared sessions for EclipseCon France 2017 and for Eclipse Oxygen Webinar Series.

Non-committers are talking about inclusion of EclEmma into Oxygen packages on various conferences such as Devoxx US 2017 and Devoxx France 2017. And are blogging about how they use EclEmma.

In 2008 EclEmma has been awarded as Best Open Source Eclipse-Based Developer Tool.

After initial contribution to Eclipse Foundation in August 2016 we received several valuable contributions from non-committers thru patches via GitHub Pull Requests and tickets in Bugzilla.

This release is part of Eclipse Oxygen.
