Compatibility
This is a minor release which includes only changes and enhancements which are backwards compatible. Users should be able to deploy 1.11.0 as a drop-in replacement for an existing Hono 1.10.x/1.9.x installation. Configuration regarding the usage of Kafka as a messaging system (currently a preview feature) may need to be adapted. See the release notes for details.
Target Environments
Hono is implemented as a set of micro services. The primary artifacts are Docker images which can be deployed to arbitrary container orchestration frameworks. In particular, Hono supports deployment to Kubernetes, OpenShift by means of a Helm chart available from the Eclipse IoT Packages project.
