Improve support for pluggable backends to store data on client and server side.

API Certification

The project leadership certifies that the APIs in this release are "Eclipse Quality".

Architectural Issues

A new set of Resource-related interfaces has been extracted to support pluggable backend implementations. This affects the client as well as the server.

The existing XMI based resource storage mechanisms have been adopted to use this new set of interfaces. Additionally, a new MongoDB backend implementations is provided.

The API will be extended to allows clients to permanently store or change usersession passwords, as well as enabling clients to react when a project is saved.

Conflict detection has been improvded, such that users do not have to care about some certain types of conflicts, since these are automatically resolved.
